A single pillar bollard is one upright post on a base plate, the simplest member of the bollard family, used where deck space or the mooring plan calls for a single, dedicated standing point rather than the paired posts of a double column bollard. Its base is engineered the same way any bollard's is: through-bolted or welded into reinforced deck framing. The fitting has to transmit the full pull of a moored or towed vessel into the hull structure without shifting.
