Overview

A vessel's plumbing runs on its own fresh and grey water systems rather than a municipal supply, so bathroom fixtures are selected against the pressure and flow the vessel's own pumps can actually deliver. Fittings replaced during a refit or drydocking are matched to the existing pipe runs and connection sizes already built into the accommodation, which is why compatibility is confirmed against the vessel's own drawings before an order is placed rather than assumed from a standard fixture size. Hot water typically comes from a dedicated calorifier fed by engine waste heat or an electric element, rather than a continuous supply, so fixture selection also accounts for that more limited hot water capacity.
