Spraying Machine

Equipment that atomises and applies coating or paint under pressure across a hull or structural surface.

WhatsApp

Overview

A spraying machine pressurises coating or paint and forces it through a nozzle that atomises the fluid into a fine mist, laying down a coat far more evenly and quickly across a large hull surface than a brush or roller could manage. Airless spray, the type most common in shipyard coating work, pressurises the paint itself rather than mixing it with compressed air, which produces less overspray and a thicker film build per pass, both of which matter on the large, exposed surfaces a hull presents. Spray tip size and pressure are matched to the coating's own viscosity, since the wrong combination either starves the surface of material or lays it on so thick that it sags before curing.
